DOW – Water and Process Solutions

DOW ULTRAFILTRATION

The DOW Ultrafiltration modules are made from high strength, hollow fiber membranes that offer the following features:

0.03 µm nominal pore diameter for removal of bacteria, viruses, and particulates including colloids

PVDF polymeric hollow fibers for high strength and chemical resistance

Hydrophilic PVDF fibers for easy cleaning and wettability that help maintain long term performance

Outside-In flow configuration for high tolerance to feed solids and the use of air scour cleaning

U-PVC housings eliminate the need for pressure vessels and are resistant

DOW FILMTEC BW30FR-400

Designed to purify water with high biological or organic fouling potential in systems with well- controlled pretreatment, DOWTM FILMTECTM BW30FR-400 reverse osmosis elements incorporate Dow’s proprietary fouling resistant membrane technology that offers exceptional fouling resistance and cleanability. This product is an extension of the DOW FILMTEC BW30FR-365 element that has demonstrated its value for numerous customers around the world. The BW30FR-400 element features:

High active area (400 square feet) for more productivity without increasing the operating flux.

High rejection DOW FILMTEC RO membrane that has one of the widest pH cleaning ranges in the industry (pH 1-13) that allows for effective cleaning of scale, organic compounds and biofilm.

Automated, precision fabrication with a greater number of shorter membrane leaves, reduces the overall effect of fouling and maximizes membrane efficiency.

These features offer system operators long-term efficiencies and trouble-free operation for RO membrane purification of fouling waters.

DOW FILMTEC Heat Sanitizable RO Elements

DOW FILMTECTM HSRO heat sanitizable reverse osmosis membrane elements deliver outstanding quality water with the added capability to withstand sanitization with hot water.

Keep elements moist at all times after initial wetting. If operating limits and guidelines given in this bulletin are not strictly followed, the limited warranty will be null and void.

To prevent biological growth during prolonged system shutdowns, it is recommended that membrane elements be immersed in a preservative solution.

The customer is fully responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on elements.

Maximum pressure drop across an entire pressure vessel (housing) is 60 psi (4.1 bar).

Avoid static permeate-backpressure at all times.

DOW FILMTEC BW30XFR-400/34i

DOW FILMTECTM BW30XFR-400/34i has an optimized design and materials of construction to create a durable, high rejection and high productivity element to purify waters with biological and organic fouling tendencies.

Effective and efficient cleaning of biofilm, organic compounds and scale, achieved through the widest pH cleaning range (pH 1 – 13), made possible by the most advanced DOW FILMTECTM RO membrane sheet available today.

Produces 10 percent more water compared to the BW30-400/34i or BW30-400/34i FR element at the same operating pressure and higher rejection, enabling lower capital expense for new systems, or increased water production in an existing system.

Enhanced cleaning effectiveness, reducing the impact of fouling and through the use of an optimized 34 mil feed spacer.

Reliable system integrity, resulting in reduced system operating costs with the iLECTM technology (interlocking end-caps), minimizing the risk of o-ring leaks that can contribute to poor water quality.

FILMTEC SW30HR LE-400i

Dow Water Solutions offers various premium seawater reverse osmosis (RO) elements designed to reduce capital and operation cost of seawater RO systems.

Benefits of the FILMTEC SW30HR LE-400i element include:

Enables systems to be designed and operated to optimize operating cost through lower energy consumption or to optimize capital cost through higher productivity at lower operating fluxes.

High NaCl and boron rejection to help meet World Health Organization (WHO) and other drinking water standards.

Effective use in permeate staged seawater desalination systems without impairing the performance of the downstream stage.

High performance over the operating lifetime without the use of oxidative post-treatments. This is one reason FILMTEC elements are more durable and may be cleaned more effectively over a wider pH range (1-13) than other RO elements.

Automated, precision fabrication with a greater number of shorter membrane leaves reducing the effect of overall fouling and maximizing element efficiency, helping to lower your cost of operation.

DOW FILMTEC BW30HR-440i

The DOW FILMTECTM BW30HR-440i element is a high-performing and productivity element combining the highest active membrane area available in the industry today with maximum rejection brackish water reverse osmosis (RO) membrane.

Produces 20 percent more water compared to the BW30-400 element, and 10 percent more water compared to the BW30-440i element, at the same operating pressure and with higher rejection, enabling lower capital expense for new systems, or increased water production in an existing system.

The BW30HR membrane sheet sustains maximum rejection over the useful life of the RO element of critical solutes, including silica, boron, ammonium and nitrate.

Includes iLECTM (interlocking endcaps) technology, which reduce system operating costs and the risk of o-ring leaks that can cause decreased permeate water quality.

Designed using an industry standard 1.125 inch ID permeate tube for interchangeability with other brackish water elements.

DOW FILMTEC BW30-400

The DOWTM FILMTECTM BW30-400 is the product of choice when the highest quality permeate is required. It was the first 400 square foot membrane element on the market and continues to be widely used in new equipment and retrofits where system capital and productivity are factors.

Dow’s superior automated manufacturing technology results in the most consistent performance element-to-element and year-after-year.

BW30-400 elements deliver high flow and high rejection without being chlorinated during the manufacturing process. This is one reason why DOW FILMTEC elements are more durable and may be cleaned over a wider pH range (pH 1-13) than other RO elements.

With more than a decade of proven performance, BW30-400 is the product you can rely on for years of trouble-free operation.

DOW FILMTEC Fiberglassed

DOW FILMTECTM brackish water reverse osmosis membrane elements provide consistent, outstanding system performance in light industrial applications.

DOW FILMTEC LE-4040 delivers highest performance at lowest pressure resulting in less energy usage and lower costs.

DOW FILMTEC BW30-4040 is the industry standard for reliable operation and production of the highest quality water.

DOW FILMTEC BW30-2540 elements are designed for systems smaller than 1 gpm (0.2 m3/h) offering a hard shell exterior for extra strength.

FILMTEC BW30-400-FR

Designed to purify water with high biological or organic fouling potential in systems with well- controlled pretreatment, FILMTECTM BW30-400-FR reverse osmosis elements incorporate Dow’s proprietary FR membrane technology that provides superior fouling resistance and cleanability. This product is an extension of the FILMTEC BW30-365-FR element that has demonstrated its value for numerous customers around the world. The BW30-400-FR element features:

High active area (400 square feet) for more productivity without increasing the operating flux.

High rejection FILMTEC RO membrane that has the widest pH cleaning range in the industry (pH 1-13) that allows for effective cleaning of scale, organic compounds and biofilm.

Automated, precision fabrication with a greater number of shorter membrane leaves, reduces the overall effect of fouling and maximizes membrane efficiency.
